Why watch this film?

It seems that after 'Captain Phillips', star Tom Hanks has taken a liking to intense maritime adventures -- as if the third act of 'Cast Away' wasn't enough. Here, in 'Greyhound', we follow Hanks as the captain of an Allied convoy that must cross the dreaded North Atlantic while fleeing from Nazi submarines. With a screenplay by Hanks himself and direction by Aaron Schneider (from the suspense 'Kisses that Kill'), the film repeats the rhythm of 'Captain Phillips': an exciting plot, over 91 minutes, where it is difficult even to find time to breathe. In addition, it is worth highlighting the importance of this production for Apple: 'Greyhound' was bought by Tim Cook's company to be shown on Apple TV+ after Sony Pictures gave up on releasing it in theaters. That is: the film remains valid for the Oscar race. And with Hanks' excellent performance, it is something possible in the awards race.
