The 'Deep Blue Sea' saga, which began in 1999, is known for its bizarre storylines about marine biologists who must survive genetically modified sharks to take their lethality to absurd levels. Those familiar with the franchise already know what to expect. 'Deep Blue Sea 3' adds nothing new to the formula and is actually a production whose budget was even more modest than the previous films. If you're looking for "good" entertainment cinema, you won't find it here. But if you like thrillers or shark-related horror movies (like 'Jaws'), or even appreciate films that openly embrace their trashy condition, you're in the right place.

Plot summary
Welcome to Little Happy, a tiny man-made island in the Mozambique Channel that’s home to a flourishing nursery of marine life, where Great Whites come to mate and give birth every year. This peaceful conservatory is overseen by Emma Collins and her team of environmentalists, determined to continue her late father’s legacy. This idyllic existence comes to an abrupt end, however, when Emma’s ex-boyfriend arrives on the hunt for three bull sharks accused of butchering a half-dozen people. Their mother Bella was genetically engineered to be smarter and far more destructive. As the body count rises it becomes clear that Bella’s offspring have inherited her enhancements, and if free to mate, will mark the end of life as we know it. Dive in for the deadliest, bloodiest return to the deep blue sea yet!

It was said about the first installment, and it can be said about Netflix's Rebel Moon (Part Two): it is a movie that only Zack Snyder fans will enjoy. The film continues to be a copy of the classic 'Seven Samurai', but in space: our heroes, led by Kora (Sofia Boutella), return to their small agricultural moon to prepare the defense against the invaders from the Empire. The story unfolds in a predictable manner (even more so if you've seen Kurosawa's classic), with Snyder's usual stylistic vices: overuse of slow motion and gratuitous Christian symbolism. If you liked the previous one (or the director's other movies), you will undoubtedly enjoy it. Otherwise, it might be better to skip it.
