Why watch this film?
'Square One' details - in a very simple way - everything that happened in the trial of Michael Jackson's first child abuse allegation. This isn't the only documentary to tackle this subject, but it is the first to attempt to show that the pop star was innocent, unlike what was seen in 'Leaving Neverland'. Director Danny Wu chronologically explores the facts that coherently show that Michael Jackson became a victim of extortion in the Evan Chandler case. The feature also aims to address the singer's suffering with vitiligo and lupus, and explains his controversial relationship with his sister LaToya Jackson. Although 'Square One' shows that Michael Jackson was a victim in this case, it is difficult to disregard other documentaries that explore precisely another point of view, that of the children who allege to have suffered abuse from the artist.

Girls State
Directing duo Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss, known for the award-winning documentary Boys State, return now for Girls State. But it would be a mistake to say it's just a female version of the first documentary. Through a select group of girls participating in a federal government simulation in Missouri, this film reveals, firstly, how American politics operates. But secondly, and more importantly, it explores how an environment supposedly empowering girls can both propel and limit them at the same time, raising questions about what we understand about power and the ways to exercise it.
Earth Protectors
Documentaries about the climate crisis are never too many, but sometimes it can be challenging to find one that presents its arguments in a different and memorable way. Earth Protectors is a worthy attempt. Directed by French artist and environmental activist Anne de Carbuccia, it artistically documents her 10-year journey around the world exploring the impact of climate change in various countries, as well as the solutions undertaken to empower global citizens and address the crisis. At times, de Carbuccia and her works take more prominence than necessary, but she manages to present vital information.
