Why watch this film?

One of the most exciting political thrillers of the 2010s, 'State of Play' has all the formulas of the genre. As the name itself suggests, there are plenty of intrigues, constant pursuits and a script that is complex yet simpler than it seems. However, it's hard not to feel like getting up from the couch at some moments, especially due to the top-notch performance of a cast featuring names such as Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Helen Mirren, Viola Davis, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright and Jason Bateman. An essential late night blockbuster for those who enjoy investigations, espionage and good action movies.
