Why watch this film?

At first glance, it's hard not to be impressed with the cast of 'The Devil All the Time'. Among other big names, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgård, Sebastian Stan, Mia Wasikowska, Eliza Scanlen, and Jason Clarke are on the screen. Whew. That's a lot of people. And yet, director and screenwriter Antonio Campos—who wrote the script alongside his brother, Paulo Campos—manages to mix all these great names into an interesting plot, albeit not entirely cohesive and somewhat dragged out. But in the end, the mix of elements such as violence and religiosity ends up raising the plot to a higher level, touching on the thorny issue of faith and reminding us of the excellent 'Sinister', with Ethan Hawke. In short, it's a complicated, intricate feature film. But in the end, the reflection and the issues that arise make up for it.
