Why watch this film?
Don't pay attention to the low rating of the movie on platforms like IMDb and Letterboxd. Most of them are from people who haven't even watched the movie and, due to some political fanaticism, insist on attacking environmental activist Greta Thumberg in any way possible. After all, the documentary 'I Am Greta' is the most accurate, honest and real record of the girl who stirred up figures like Donald Trump and Jair Bolsonaro. A staunch defender of the environment, she is here portrayed by Nathan Grossman's camera from her solitary beginning, striking outside the Swedish parliament, to the moment when she began to be received by presidents and make a difference in the global debate on sustainability. You may not like the figure and the words of the girl, but surely you will find an accurate account of how her life is, where her environmental formation comes from and the reasons that make her an activist at the age of 16. Special mention for the precision of director Nathan Grossman, who was able to perceive a good story in Greta's figure when she was not even known by the Swedes themselves.

Girls State
Directing duo Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss, known for the award-winning documentary Boys State, return now for Girls State. But it would be a mistake to say it's just a female version of the first documentary. Through a select group of girls participating in a federal government simulation in Missouri, this film reveals, firstly, how American politics operates. But secondly, and more importantly, it explores how an environment supposedly empowering girls can both propel and limit them at the same time, raising questions about what we understand about power and the ways to exercise it.
Earth Protectors
Documentaries about the climate crisis are never too many, but sometimes it can be challenging to find one that presents its arguments in a different and memorable way. Earth Protectors is a worthy attempt. Directed by French artist and environmental activist Anne de Carbuccia, it artistically documents her 10-year journey around the world exploring the impact of climate change in various countries, as well as the solutions undertaken to empower global citizens and address the crisis. At times, de Carbuccia and her works take more prominence than necessary, but she manages to present vital information.
