Netflix has often strived to gain more recognition with its Indian films. They are dramas ('Lieutenant Cargil'), romances ('Love Aa') and even thrillers ('Class of 83'). Now, the streaming service adds the family dramedy 'Serious Men' to its catalog. Directed by celebrated Sudhir Mishra, the feature film talks about a father wanting to gain social status in the intricate Indian caste system through his son's fame. Although it has several distinctive features of Indian cinema, such as the more festive tone even in moments of drama, the feature film can be a good gateway for those looking to better understand Bollywood production and watch films closer to the American market we are used to.
