The Lie

A father and daughter's good intentions lead to terrible consequences.

Why watch this film?

Amazon Prime Video has partnered with Blumhouse Productions to launch a collection of horror and suspense films on their platform. 'The Lie' is one of the releases. A remake of 'Wir Monster', this production follows the story of a girl (Joey King in a completely different role than 'The Kissing Booth') who kills a classmate. From there, her parents (Mireille Enos and Peter Sarsgaard) do everything they can to protect the girl, in a mix of 'The Killing' and 'We Need to Talk About Kevin'. Although director Veena Sud doesn't hit the right tone, leaving the film too monotonous and cold for the proposal, the good premise, the good actors and a shocking final twist may be enough for suspense fans, who will be intrigued by the unfolding of the narrative - even if it doesn't make much sense.
