Teachers unite to fight for their labor rights in a true story of struggle.

Trailer

Why watch this film?

Elected best film by the popular jury at Cine PE, a traditional Brazilian Northeast festival, the feature film 'Abraço' tells the true story of union teachers who fight to maintain a professional right. It is a fair story that resonates in important matters even decades later, due to the deterioration of the profession that takes place throughout Brazil. However, it is a shame that the quality of DF Fiuza's film does not match the importance of the plot. The script is artificial and didactic, explaining every detail of absolutely everything that happens on the screen. The actors are not well directed, generating an evident discomfort and absolutely mechanical performances. And the tone of the film is much lower than promised, with a bureaucratic and lukewarm realization. In this way, in the end, only the importance of the fact and this story remains. If that's enough to watch the movie, it's worth it. However, if you are looking for something more, you will be disappointed.
