Why watch this film?

'Spanglish' is one of those absurd comedies by Adam Sandler that hasn't aged as well as some of his other productions. After all, the plot about the relationship between an American family and a Mexican housekeeper has some questionable elements that wouldn't pass the public's scrutiny nowadays. However, if seen with a critical eye, this comedy can have its positive points, like Sandler's looser humor and Paz Vega's inspired performance as the Mexican housekeeper of the American couple. Again: it's far from being Sandler's best movie. But, keeping the due restrictions in mind and remembering the obvious problems in the film, it's worth watching for some good laughs.
