Why watch this film?

Brazil has always faced a delicate situation regarding the survival of its indigenous population. It is no secret that since the region was "discovered" by Portugal, there has been a threat to various tribes and this has only intensified over the years. As their role is gradually erased in the country, director Maya Da-Rin made her feature film debut giving prominence to this rich and important part of Brazil's history - which deserves attention and unfortunately does not have it. 'A Febre' is the first time that indigenous people are the main characters of a fiction film in Brazilian cinema. The production had a good reception from international critics and was awarded at the Locarno Festival: Regis Myrupu, the protagonist, won the best actor award and the production also won the jury prize. 'A Febre' was also highlighted in other international festivals in Europe, Asia and North America.
