A soldier deserts his unit to reunite with his wife in a remote village during World War II, but secret police threaten their escape.

Why watch this film?

When it seems like there is no more room for dramas about and set in World War II, 'Little Kingdom' comes along. Directed by Peter Magat ('In the Dark'), the feature film hits the mark by mixing three emotions: the horrors of war, the love that persists even in dark times, and the desperation to escape the enemy. With standout performances from Alicia Agneson ('Vikings') and Lachlan Nieboer ('Downton Abbey'), the feature film knows how to navigate between the different feelings that arise with this story that mixes escapism, romance, and thriller. A truly original movie, which takes advantage of all its good moments, and should please fans of World War II.
