Why watch this film?
What an intense, intense, and unexpected movie 'Greenland' is. Reuniting Gerard Butler and director Ric Roman Waugh after 'Angel Has Fallen', the feature film takes advantage of all the possible clichés of the so-called disaster films - like 'Geostorm', 'Independence Day' and the like. However, contrary to what usually happens, this is not exactly a bad thing. After all, even with so many generic moments in the story of a family trying to survive the end of the world, we find good moments here. Firstly, the good performance of Brazilian Morena Baccarin ('Deadpool') and Roger Dale Floyd ('Doctor Sleep'). Butler is also good, but doesn't differ much from other works. In addition, the film's sense of urgency stands out, with meteors coming to Earth. Something that, I confess, is much scarier than an earthquake or the like. It's a movie full of banalities and generic moments, but it hits the mark with that audience who likes adrenaline - and, on top of that, with some good reflections on morality and ethics at the end of the world.

Shot Caller
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, from 'Game of Thrones', delivers an excellent performance in this drama, which discusses topics such as family, organized crime and how prison can change someone's life. "Master of Crime" may seem like just a movie about criminality, but it's not. The themes are addressed densely, escaping the pattern that this type of production usually has. The time construction, going back and forth from the past to the present, captures the viewer and surprises in the script.
Angel Has Fallen
This is the third part of the 'Invasão' (‘Fallen’ in the original) series, starring Gerard Butler and preceded by 'Invasão à Casa Branca' (‘Olympus Has Fallen’) and 'Invasão a Londres' (‘London Has Fallen’). If you liked the first two parts, you can expect the same from this sequel: international scale plot, lots of tension and pure action, which makes Gerard Butler an action hero like the ones from the old days. Don't expect a very complex storyline or deep characters, because 'Angel Has Fallen' is more concerned with bringing shooting, fighting and bombing.
Kandahar
In Kandahar, actor Gerard Butler reunites with director Ric Roman Waugh, with whom he has already had successful collaborations in the action genre such as The Day of the End of the World and Under Fire Agent. However, the result was not as effective as on other occasions, and even seems dated. The plot follows a CIA agent (Butler) disguised in the Middle East, whose life is put at risk when his identity is revealed, so he must travel to an extraction point with the help of a local translator. The movie abuses outdated Arab stereotypes and is the typical story of an all-American hero. It may belong to another decade, but if you like this style of movies like Rambo, it might be worth giving it a chance.
