101 Dalmatians

A ruthless fashion designer schemes to steal Dalmatian puppies for a fur coat.

Why watch this film?

It's a remake of Disney's classic animated movie, '101 Dalmatians' (also known as 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians') from 1961, which was based on Dodie Smith's novel 'The 101 Dalmatians'. In this contemporary version there are no dialogues for the dogs, and no jazz-filled soundtrack either, so it loses a bit of the charm of the original. However, Glenn Close's (‘Fatal Attraction’) manic performance as Cruella de Vil is more than worth it to give this version a chance, deservedly nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical category.
