Why watch this film?

A horror movie that hasn't been produced in a long time. Colombian director Juan Diego Escobar Alzate managed to create a beautiful visual work with this folkloric horror tale. Robert Eggers gained some recognition when he debuted with 'The Witch' in 2015, and Alzate deserves the same, as he was able to build an even richer production than Eggers with a theme that is even similar. 'Luz' is the second feature film by Juan Diego Escobar Alzate, but the first one made for the cinema. The movie made a lot of noise in various international festivals and fell into the taste of critics, not only for the story but also for the beautiful editing. The filmmaker had a special care with the scenography, extremely detailed and well thought out. It may seem daring, but technically speaking, this production is a masterpiece so well done.
