Why watch this film?

Despite the horrors of concentration camps during World War II, cinema found ways to soften what was happening in those places and bring simple stories with hints of hope, albeit with tragic endings. This is the case with 'Life is Beautiful', 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas' and, in some way, 'Jojo Rabbit'. Now, inspired by the book 'The Jewish Dog', director Lynn Roth ('The Little Traitor') returns to bring lightness and emotion to the stories of World War II with 'Shepherd: The Story of a Jewish Dog'. Here, we follow the journey of a dog who is taken by Nazi officers from a Jewish family to guard a concentration camp. It is there that he finds his former owner, a Jew with whom he still maintains ties. Despite the excess of melodrama, which almost turns the production into a soap opera, 'Shepherd: The Story of a Jewish Dog' has some truly inspiring moments and anyone who likes dogs will certainly shed tears with Kaleb's journey and his young owner imprisoned in a concentration camp.

His original master, a young boy named Joshua, has arrived as a prisoner of the camp.
