Who is a fan of 'Star Wars' must know or remember the terrible, scary and strange holiday special of the franchise, shown on television at the end of the 1970s - among other things, there is Chewbacca dressed in a horrendous red outfit to get into the mood. So rest assured, as a good 'Star Wars' holiday special finally reaches the general public with 'The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special'. Following the tradition of 'Star Wars' productions made with the aesthetics of LEGO pieces, we follow the journey of new and old characters from the franchise in a typical end-of-year adventure. It's a shame that the already known actors of the characters don't do the voice work of their LEGO versions, taking away some of the magic of the whole thing. But still, it should bring some comfort to the hearts of 'Star Wars' fans.

A fun Star Wars adventure in animation - with the world's most famous toys. 'Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales' follows Poe Dameron and BB-8 as they face their greatest fears in Darth Vader's palace. Following the same format as the other shorts in this universe, the story only enriches the expanded universe - which Disney has been exploring since 'Rogue One' (2016) - with an intriguing narrative that is great for both adults and children. 'Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales' makes a great parallel to horror stories with the dark side of the force, which was perpetuated by Darth Vader in the franchise.
LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation
Disney+ has found a way to bring together its universes and explore new languages through shorts - it's with these shorts, for example, that 'The Simpsons' mix with Marvel, Star Wars and classic Disney characters. It is also in this format that more loose stories with LEGO figures are told. In 'LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation', Rose, Rey, Finn, Poe and Chewbacca look to relax in the summer sun after their fateful battle with Emperor Palpatine. However, as with all vacations, things don't go as planned. Although it's too silly at times, it's fun to see the 'Star Wars' characters in a new, more relaxed and laid-back context.

Robot Dreams
Sometimes we get so carried away by the marketing power of studios like Disney Pixar, and we overlook other avenues for deep and powerful animated stories that don't need excessively complex plots to evoke emotions. Such is the case with Robot Dreams, a Hispanic-French production directed by Pablo Berger (2012’s Snow White), based on the eponymous graphic novel by Sara Varon. Set in New York during the 80s, the story follows Dog, whose solitary life leads him to buy a robot for companionship. Their friendship grows, but an unfortunate day at the beach forces them to separate and long for the day of their reunion. Virtually without dialogue, with vibrant animation and a captivating visual language, the film tells a simple yet profoundly moving story about (curiously) human relationships and the course they take despite (or because of) accidents, fortuitous circumstances, and uncontrollable events that happen throughout life.
