Why watch this film?

Non-3D animations are rare these days, if it weren't for Studio Ghibli and Cartoon Saloon - an Irish film and television studio - we would almost no longer have the good old two-dimensional cartoons. Just for using this technique, 'Wolfwalkers' is already worthy of praise. The film is from the same creators of 'The Song of the Sea', an Oscar-nominated animation. Completing the trilogy of Irish folk tales from Cartoon Saloon, following 'A Journey to the World of Fables' and the aforementioned 'The Song of the Sea', 'Wolfwalkers' brings a beautiful story, full of historical meaning that is part of the 2020 selection of the Toronto International Film Festival. It is worth noting that the animation was the winner of the audience award for best narrative at the American Film Institute Festival this year.
