Why watch this film?
Despite Netflix having some good Christmas movies in its catalog, such as 'Klaus' and 'Christmas Chronicles', there are also some pretty forgettable productions that only serve for the viewer to pass the time -- and look there. This is the case of 'A California Christmas', an exclusive streaming service feature film that tells a worn-out story: a farmer's son who poses as a rural worker to convince a small producer to sell his land -- all at Christmas time. Reminding us a lot of the Brazilian production 'Ricos de Amor', the feature film uses clichés and obviousness to bring expected feelings to those who watch this production: romance, a pinch of emotion and some laughs. It won't revolutionize the subgenre of Christmas stories, nor bring a truly original narrative -- which, perhaps, is exactly what you're looking for.
