Why watch this film?
Absolute success of the 2000s, 'Bridget Jones's Diary' became one of those inexplicable sensations of romantic comedy. After all, the feeling is that everything in this movie by director Sharon Maguire ('Fairy Godmother') has been seen before: the protagonist without success in love, the heartthrobs that appear and the climate of "stay calm, everything will be fine in the end". However, that's it: maybe because people are looking for these "comfort movies", 'Bridget Jones's Diary' is so beloved by so many and for so long. The light plot, although spicy at times, helps to set the tone and make men and women dream of a similar life.

Godmothered
Fairy tales remain alive in Disney's magical universe and 'Godmothered' is the proof of that. The movie shows how this concept has changed over the years and that people no longer believe in happy endings - and because of that, godmothers are no longer needed. The idea of the production is to prove exactly the opposite. Both in the unfolding of the plot and for the viewer, we still need light tales with positive messages. Even though the concept of 'happily ever after' has changed over time, Mickey Mouse's studio has tried to keep up with it as we have seen in 'Frozen' and 'Maleficent', there are no more damsels in distress who need to be saved by a man. 'Godmothered' managed to bring fairy tales into the present in a good way and demystifying this cliché. A light and hopeful movie directed by Sharon Maguire, the same director of 'Bridget Jones's Diary.'

A Brighter Tomorrow
Italian filmmaker Nanni Moretti (winner of the Palme d'Or in 2001 for The Son's Room) returns with what has been called his 8½, for obvious reasons. A Brighter Tomorrow is the story of a filmmaker struggling to shoot a movie about the Hungarian Revolution, while trying to save his marriage to his producer wife. The film satirizes the current state of cinema, and perhaps indulges a bit too much in its nostalgia. It is far from the best that veteran Moretti has to offer, but if you've enjoyed his previous films, you will undoubtedly enjoy this one.
