Just Getting Started

Ex-FBI agent and ex-mob lawyer team up to fend off a mob hit while putting aside their rivalry.

Why watch this film?

Despite being a renowned actor, Morgan Freeman has also appeared in comedies that don't go anywhere. Some funnier (‘Going in Style’, ‘Last Vegas’), others more forgettable, such as ‘Just Getting Started’. Directed and written by Ron Shelton (‘Bull Durham’, ‘White Men Can’t Jump’), the production shows two completely different people who have to put up with each other. One is a criminal lawyer, the other an ex-FBI agent. There is a lot of nonsense in this story, as well as clichés that accumulate - some even bordering on the absurd. Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones, at least, make the movie lighter and easier to consume. In short, it's not memorable, but you can have fun.
