Why watch this film?

'Antigone', a classic Greek tragedy written by Sophocles, involves death, family, and the clash of ideas. A complicated and intricate text, it has become an essential work for those who study or appreciate Law. Now, the essence of Sophocles' play is translated to the big screen in the good crime drama 'Antigone: Resistance is in the Blood'. Here, we follow the story under the light of a painful social realism. Specifically, the story of a model student and citizen who wants to honor one of her brothers and help the other escape prison - however, as expected, she finds herself surrounded by a flawed law. Although it does not come close to the brilliance of the original text, it certainly helps give a more real, current, and human dimension to the Greek play.
