Why watch this film?

Beyond being an animated documentary with surreal and war drama elements -which says a lot about the peculiarities of this movie released in competition at the 2008 Cannes Festival-, 'Waltz with Bashir' is distinguished for being one of the two Israeli animated movies that managed to reach cinemas since 'Joseph the Dreamer' from 1962, and for being one of the few animated films nominated for an Oscar, a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film (although it only won the latter). The testimonies of this film are something that will stay in your memory forever, engraved with images that seem like nightmares.
