Director Wagner Assis, of "Nosso Lar" and "A Menina Índigo", returns to the spiritist doctrine - but this time, with a historical account. "Kardec" tells the story of Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail, better known by the pseudonym Allan Kardec, famous for codifying, systematizing and spreading the doctrine in mid-19th century France. The biography is extremely well-intentioned and well-directed, made to please the spiritist community or those seeking to learn more about kardecism - although, as a film, it lacks greater involvement between the viewer and the characters, since the protagonists were portrayed as historical figures placed on a pedestal.
Amor Assombrado
The movie is about a woman (played by Vanessa Gerbelli, famous for telenovelas on Globo and RecordTV) who, since she was young, suffers with entities that she can see but not understand. All this to debate current issues, such as depression, the indiscriminate use of black labels and wrong diagnosis of pathologies. The feature film bears the signature of Wagner de Assis, who has explored themes of the spirit doctrine in the cinema - including titles such as 'Nosso Lar' and 'Kardec: The Story Behind the Name'.
