An Officer and a Spy
Winner of the critics' and jury awards at the 2019 Venice Film Festival, 'J'accuse' is a legal and biographical drama from Polish filmmaker Roman Polanski ('The Pianist'). The film is inspired by Robert Harris' homonymous novel which, in turn, is based on the true story of the Dreyfus Affair, a political scandal in France at the end of the 19th century. The director offers us serious reflections on the scope of justice and the State, in one of the most important cases in history about judicial error and anti-Semitism, in which human rights were sacrificed in favor of the survival of the government. This is the attention to detail in this drama, with solid performances from Jean Dujardin ('The Artist'), Mathieu Amalric ('The Blue Room') and Louis Garrel ('A Faithful Man'), which take a back seat to the controversies surrounding Polanski himself.
Rosemary's Baby
One of the great classics of cinema. Roman Polanski's 1968 film continues to haunt. The movie features Mia Farrow ('Hannah and her Sisters') and John Cassavetes ('The Dirty Dozen') as a newly married couple who move into a building where the neighbors are extremely strange, and when she gets pregnant she discovers that her husband is involved in a witch cult that wants her to give birth to the Son of Darkness. The movie is a faithful adaptation of Ira Levin's book. A morbid curiosity, the following year the pregnant wife of the director, Sharon Tate, was brutally murdered in her home by followers of Charles Manson. For fans of the horror genre and lovers of the great classics of Hollywood.

In Kidnapped (Rapito), Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio delves into one of the murkiest and most controversial episodes in the history of the Catholic Church, the "Mortara case". In 1851, when Jewish boy Edgardo Mortara becomes gravely ill, his Catholic nanny decides to baptize him in an emergency. However, papal law dictates that all Catholics must be raised as such, so the cardinal orders the boy to be taken and handed over to the church, against his parents' wishes, who decide to fight for him. The film recounts a controversial case that captured the attention of the rest of Europe and America, and skillfully portrays the clash of interests between the waning power of the church, Mortara's parents, and public opinion, with irreversible consequences for all involved.
Green Border
'Green Border' - In the treacherous and swampy forests that make up the so called “green border” between Belarus and Poland, refugees from the Middle East and Africa trying to reach the European Union are trapped in a geopolitical crisis cynically engineered by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko.
