Why watch this film?

Based on the novel "Desert Cities" by José Agustín, the movie brings up several submerged themes beneath the surface of a romantic comedy. These include the clash between Mexican and U.S. cultures, as well as the unspoken machismo that permeates many modern relationships. Nominated for six categories in Ariel Awards, which is the Mexican version of the Oscars, the feature also stars Gael García Bernal ("The Motorcycle Diaries") in the lead role - always a guarantee of good acting.
