Damien Chazelle (of 'La La Land') brings his more human and less heroic vision of Neil Armstrong, the first man to step on the moon. With empathy and closeness, the film presents us the man, his fears, problems, losses, qualities and flaws - while reconstructing the events of the space race that took Apollo 11 to land on the arid satellite in orbit around Earth. Although it does not look like the director's previous projects, it is a feature capable of captivating those who seek both historical narrative and those who want to see the human adventure.

After winning the Oscar for Best Direction for the delightful and romantic 'La La Land', filmmaker Damien Chazelle returns to what he knows and loves to do: emotional stories involving the world of art. After talking twice about music (also in 'Whiplash', his first feature film), now he focuses his camera on Hollywood in the 1920s and 1930s. At that time, the cradle of Western cinema was undergoing intense transformation, from silent films to talking films. From this, with the story of the characters Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt), Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie) and Manny Torres (Diego Calva), we understand more about the challenges of this universe, with scenes ranging from scatology to drama, from comedy to nonsense. It is a journey through genres that, deep down, also pays clear and sensitive homage to cinema - with references to classics such as 'Singing in the Rain' and 'Sunset Boulevard', for example. All this with great performances, especially from Robbie ('Birds of Prey') and Calva ('Narcos: Mexico'). There are those who don't like the movie, calling it exaggerated, off-tone and so on. But believe me: this Dante-esque production by Chazelle can win you over.

Kidnapped
In Kidnapped (Rapito), Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio delves into one of the murkiest and most controversial episodes in the history of the Catholic Church, the "Mortara case". In 1851, when Jewish boy Edgardo Mortara becomes gravely ill, his Catholic nanny decides to baptize him in an emergency. However, papal law dictates that all Catholics must be raised as such, so the cardinal orders the boy to be taken and handed over to the church, against his parents' wishes, who decide to fight for him. The film recounts a controversial case that captured the attention of the rest of Europe and America, and skillfully portrays the clash of interests between the waning power of the church, Mortara's parents, and public opinion, with irreversible consequences for all involved.
