Why watch this film?
The story takes place right after the events of 'The Avengers'. Now, Tony Stark has to finally deal with the repercussions of his actions and limitations as a superhero, represented by the dead of the Battle of New York. The direction is by Shane Black ('Kiss Kiss Bang Bang'), who brings some of his characteristic to the franchise in a movie that, despite its dense subjects, manages to be entertaining and engaging. The villain is the Mandarin, classic antagonist of Iron Man in the comics - which here appears in a very different version, to not offend the important Chinese market. Highlight for the soundtrack signed by Brian Tyler (from the 'Fast & Furious' franchise), which is the musical highlight of the franchise.

The Predator
Continuing the saga started in 1987, director Shane Black ('Kiss Kiss Bang Bang') brings a story set in present day with a team of soldiers tasked to recover an alien artifact that can help the Earth in future battles against the Predators. The film features well-known faces such as Boyd Holbrook (from 'Narcos'), Tevante Rhodes ('Moonlight'), Jacob Tremblay ('Wonder') and Olivia Munn ('The Newsroom'). Unfortunately, the movie brings a confusing story that doesn't know if it wants to be similar to the original production or to approach superhero movies. Watch it if you are a fan of the franchise, or if you want to see a series of bloody deaths with no sense or reason.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Filled with dark humor, 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' is a comedic satire of film noir directed by Shane Black. Featuring hilarious performances from Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr. - in his pre-Iron Man days - it's one of those little-known gems that's well worth the time for a good laugh.
The Nice Guys
Within the genre of buddy comedies, one of the obligatory references is the action saga 'Lethal Weapon', which stands out beyond Richard Donner’s direction for Shane Black's script in the first three installments. Black eventually made his debut as a director in the same genre with the entertaining ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’, which repeats the formula of the mismatched pair wrapped up in a murder investigation. As one should not fix something that isn't broken, the director went back to the drawing board with 'The Nice Guys', which sees an awkward, failed, and cowardly detective (Ryan Gosling, in one of his best and most entertaining roles) collaborating with a tough and experienced thug (Russell Crowe) to solve the murder of an adult movie actress. The film, although slightly longer than necessary, is an incredibly fun journey from start to finish, with well-developed characters, hilarious performances, and solid direction from Black, who manages to inject new life into the genre.

The Witch: Part 2. The Other One
The Witch: Part 2. The Other One - A fast-paced action, mystery and thriller film that follows a young woman with impressive telekinetic powers, desperately fighting for her life while unraveling the mysteries of her past, pursued by unscrupulous killers. With Blue Dragon Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress (Seo Eun-su) and Best New Actress (Cynthia), this film captures the protagonist's intense battle to find answers and justice, facing not only her persecutors, but also to his own inner demons.
Bloodsport
Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his starring debut in the descriptively titled Bloodsport. An American soldier at large in Hong Kong, Van Damme becomes involved in the Kumite, a highly illegal kickboxing competition. Whoever survives the bout will be crowned Kumite champion of the world…a title that has plenty of challengers with homicide in their hearts. The finale offers a duel to the death between Van Damme and reigning Kumite king Bolo Yeung. The script is based on the real-life exploits of martial arts champ Frank Dux, who serves as the film's fight coordinator.
War on Terror: KL Anarchy
Khalid, a rebellious cop from an elite special force must prove he is able to work as a team in order to thwart terrorist threats to bring down Kuala Lumpur.
The Order
In The Order, Van Damme plays a man accused of murder who seeks a sacred scripture in Jerusalem before it falls into the wrong hands, jeopardizing his freedom. With shades of Dan Brown and a script by Jean Claude Van Damme himself, alongside Les Weldon (screenwriter of another action star film, Replicant), the movie is what every fan of the Belgian actor wants: brawling, with a fun plot, and never boring.
