If you don't know who Ingmar Bergman is, you already have reason to watch 'Buscando a Ingmar Bergman'. And if you do know him, you also have to watch it, as it provides a very intimate perspective of one of the most important filmmakers in history. This is the first documentary by one of the driving forces behind new German cinema, Margarethe Von Trotta, who was impressed by her first encounter with 'The Seventh Seal' in her youth, and now pays homage to one of the most iconic and acclaimed filmmakers, known for his daring discourse and constant formal innovation. For the most knowledgeable cinephiles, it will be a pleasure to find interviews with one of Bergman's muses, Liv Ullman, as well as incredible anecdotes told by filmmakers such as Olivier Assayas, Mia Hansen-Løve, Ruben Östlund and even Daniel Bergman, the filmmaker's son, who give movie fans an exquisite cocktail of stories and experiences that will broaden the horizon of an artist who came to define the second half of the 20th century.
