Far From the Tree

A heartfelt exploration of families with profoundly different children

Trailer

Why watch this film?

Andrew Solomon wrote his book 'Far from the Tree' as a way of reconciling with his parents, who rejected him for being homosexual, attributing it to a mental problem. Now, the documentary of the same name revisits Solomon's story and uses it as a thematic axis to narrate the life of five other families facing Down Syndrome to dwarfism, among others. The film has several emotional moments - and a mystery involving a homicide.
