Why watch this film?
'It: Chapter Two' is a demonstration that more doesn't always mean better, as the movie drags on for much of its lengthy second act. Stephen King's book has always been considered one of his hardest works to adapt to the screen and, with the second part, director Andy Muschietti achieves an imperfect but satisfactory result by repeating the formula of the first: an unmatchable cast and a script that, most of the time, foregoes its more abstract mystical elements to approach a traditional blockbuster. It's a worthy conclusion, but very different from the previous one - so don't expect so much tension and easy scares. The objective of the movie is to cause catharsis, so humor is the order of the day, sometimes in excess and even involuntarily. At least we have a fair homage to King himself, who appears as a store clerk while drinking mate with the shield of Club Atlético Independiente (the director is a fanatical "hincha" of the Argentinean association).

Adaptation of Stephen King's great terror epic by director Andy Muschietti. With more than a thousand pages in the literary version, the feature film brings only the first part of the original story - exchanging the 1950s for the 1980s, as well as other changes. A plot about the loss of innocence and the discovery of fear of death, although not with the same brilliance of the original version or the 1980s TV adaptation. Special mention to Bill Skarsgård, who is really scary.
The Flash
After years of production and surrounded by controversies, finally the movie of the scarlet speedster arrives at the big screens to close the DC Extended Universe as we know it today. Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin) assumes the mantle of the hero in a double role, and we have the awaited return of Michael Keaton as Batman. It's a fun and thrilling movie, with cartoonish sequences, a handful of good ideas and more originality than most of the recent productions we find in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie wobbles a bit towards the end, with some resolutions that sound somewhat inconclusive, and had the bad luck of premiering only two weeks after Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse, with a very similar theme. Still, it definitely has a great heart and should cheer up studio fans who waited so long. The cast stands out especially, overflowing with chemistry, and Andy Muschietti (director of the Stephen King movies 'It') who assumed the job with much commitment and dedication.

From director Gibrán Bazán, pupil of legendary cult filmmaker Juan López Moctezuma (Alucarda), NUDUS is a science fiction thriller that, with few resources, aspires to create the worst conceivable dystopia of our digital age: a world in which everyone's data is accessible to everyone, and for any purpose, after a major global hack. The plot follows a woman (Carla Hernández) who, upon waking up from a prolonged coma, is confronted by a stranger (Álex Crusa) who seems to know everything about her: everything she has written on WhatsApp and Facebook, all the videos she has sent to her contacts, all the humiliating information she has said in private. From this moment on, NUDUS seems more concerned with the mystery of its characters than with the greater background of their situation, so it becomes more about the exploitation of its female protagonist than a reflection on technology and data privacy. However, despite the plot going off the rails, the situation lends itself to exemplifying a catastrophic scenario of these breaches in privacy.
