'Code 8' is the result of the effort of Stephen Amell (famous as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow from the series 'Arrow') and his cousin Robbie Amell (the Nuclear hero from 'The Flash'), who turned the idea of a small short they released years ago into an Indiegogo crowdfunding project. The idea was to raise $200,000 for production, but they managed to raise $2.4 million! The feature film takes place in the near future, in which superpowered people suffer from society's prejudice and police repression, and often resort to crime to survive. It's like 'X-Men' with elements of 'Robocop' and the aesthetics of 'Chappie', with the viewer being able to draw parallels with current themes such as immigration crisis, ethnic prejudice, abuse of authority and inefficient public policies. In this context, we have Stephen living a crime lord with telekinetic powers, which will positively surprise fans who know the actor from the Arrowverse series. The cast also features a familiar face to fans of 'Fast & Furious': Sung Kang, who plays Han in the franchise.
