Why watch this film?
Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel of the same name, 'The Great Gatsby' brings together Leonardo DiCaprio with Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann ('Romeo + Juliet'), so if you are familiar with the work of the director of 'Moulin Rouge, Love in Red' you'll know what to expect from this adaptation. While Fitzgerald's masterpiece is a pessimistic portrait of the twenties and the "American Dream," Luhrmann's film sets aside that depth in favor of visual spectacle...but what a spectacle it is! With frantic editing, the dances, parties and extravagance of the golden twenties are mixed with an impressive contemporary soundtrack of music performed and composed by artists like Beyoncé, Lana del Rey, Florence + The Machine, will.i.am, Jack White, Sia, Jay Z and more. The icing on the cake is DiCaprio's acting duo with Carey Mulligan ('Drive, the Escape').

Elvis
Elvis Presley is one of the most well-known names in world music, still with a legion of fans - and generating a lot of revenue - decades after his death. But how was the young man from Memphis, Tennessee, elevated to the status of King of Rock? The biopic "Elvis" traces exactly this path, showing how black music influenced the musician, the discovery of his style, the furor (for good and for bad) that he caused in society and his countless phases. The thread of the narrative is the singer's manager, "Colonel" Tom Parker (Tom Hanks), who propelled Elvis to stardom - and who, for many, is to blame for his death. From there begins a real event movie, including an accelerated edition and a sometimes stylized visual. All to give stage to Austin Butler, who plays the star in a masterful way, making us really believe that Elvis did not die - even when he sings. Although long (2h39 of duration), the production addresses practically all the relevant facts of Presley's career and personal life, which will certainly leave fans extremely satisfied.

In Kidnapped (Rapito), Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio delves into one of the murkiest and most controversial episodes in the history of the Catholic Church, the "Mortara case". In 1851, when Jewish boy Edgardo Mortara becomes gravely ill, his Catholic nanny decides to baptize him in an emergency. However, papal law dictates that all Catholics must be raised as such, so the cardinal orders the boy to be taken and handed over to the church, against his parents' wishes, who decide to fight for him. The film recounts a controversial case that captured the attention of the rest of Europe and America, and skillfully portrays the clash of interests between the waning power of the church, Mortara's parents, and public opinion, with irreversible consequences for all involved.
Green Border
'Green Border' - In the treacherous and swampy forests that make up the so called “green border” between Belarus and Poland, refugees from the Middle East and Africa trying to reach the European Union are trapped in a geopolitical crisis cynically engineered by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko. In an attempt to provoke Europe, refugees are lured to the border by propaganda promising easy passage to the EU. Pawns in this hidden war, the lives of Julia, a newly minted activist who has given up her comfortable life, Jan, a young border guard, and a Syrian family intertwine.
