Why watch this film?

Vaguely inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale 'The Snow Queen', 'Frozen' is one of the biggest successes of the House of Mickey among audiences and critics alike, being considered as the kick-off of the Disney's second Renaissance. With precision and attention to detail, the animation offers everything one can expect from a Disney musical: adventure, romance and incredible songs that stick in our minds like glue - it's impossible to forget "Let it Go", for example. Still, the feature film strives to subvert some of the studio's cartoon clichés and commonplaces, leaving aside the "damsel in distress" plot and investing in female protagonists who have total control of their lives and choices. Putting all this together, we have a memorable movie that broke box office records in theaters.
