Why watch this film?

Based on the graphic novel 'Sordo' by David Muñoz and Rayco Pulido, which in turn alludes to Ernest Hemingway's novel 'For Whom the Bell Tolls', 'Surdo' takes place within the context of the anti-Franco guerrillas, five years after the end of the Spanish Civil War. With a hero of peculiar conditions who must defend himself from the enemy, the film certainly has several shades of western. Despite a script that stumbles a bit in the second half, the phenomenal performances of the cast (especially Asier Etxeandia, whom you certainly recognize from 'Pain and Glory'), great cinematography and careful audio design, make the feature a fun example of contemporary Spanish cinema.
