Why watch this film?

Directed by Liz Garbus (the Oscar-nominated producer of 'What Happened, Miss Simone?') and premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, 'Lost Girls' is the cinematic adaptation of Robert Kolker's book about the real-life murders of several young sex workers perpetrated by the still-unidentified "Long Island Serial Killer". With a solid cast led by Amy Ryan ('Fear of Truth'), Thomasin McKenzie ('Jojo Rabbit') and Gabriel Byrne ('The Usual Suspects'), the feature film also explores the shortcomings of the American justice system and, in particular, prejudice.
