Sorry to Bother You

A telemarketer in Oakland discovers a key to success, but at what cost?

Trailer

Why watch this film?

The debut as a filmmaker of rapper and activist Boots Riley is a demented farce that rescues a little of the spirit of Spike Lee ('Do the Right Thing', 'BlacKkKlansman'). 'Sorry to Bother You' is an ingenious comedy that explores the depths of racial and systemic oppression in the United States (and, by extension, much of the western world), starting with prejudice that skews economic opportunities, and reaching criticisms of consumerism, class gap and racial identity. The cast is also top notch, led by Lakeith Stanfield ('Get Out'), Tessa Thompson ('Creed'), Terry Crews ('The Expendables'), Danny Glover ('Lethal Weapon'), Armie Hammer ('Call Me By Your Name') and Steven Yeun ('Burning').
