Why watch this film?
Drinking from the fountain of 'Red Sparrow', a production with Jennifer Lawrence, the interesting 'The Rhythm Section' is one of those movies that play it safe. Starring a strange Blake Lively (from the suspense 'Shallow Waters'), the feature film plays with the possibilities behind the story of a secret agent. There is no here the colors of 'Atomic' or the vivacity of 'Nikita', for example. But still, director Reed Morano (from the interesting 'Meadowland') brings an interesting rhythm to the feature film, which should please those looking for quick and direct entertainment. On top of that, it features performances by Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown, who give the movie an extra boost.

Released at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival - where it earned the Special Jury Prize - 'I Think We're Alone Now' is the fourth feature film from also cinematographer Reed Morano, best known and awarded for directing various episodes of the acclaimed series 'The Handmaid's Tale'. Between drama, suspense and science fiction, the movie approaches dystopia from a less conventional perspective: that of someone who feels more comfortable without company than surrounded by other people (something contrary, for example, to what was seen in 'Seeking a Friend for the End of the World'), making it an extraordinarily beautiful treatise on loneliness. The screenplay is the weakest aspect, since it takes a long time to get to its first twist, despite the performances of Peter Dinklage ('Game of Thrones') and Elle Fanning ('Neon Demon').

Bloodsport
Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his starring debut in the descriptively titled Bloodsport. An American soldier at large in Hong Kong, Van Damme becomes involved in the Kumite, a highly illegal kickboxing competition. Whoever survives the bout will be crowned Kumite champion of the world…a title that has plenty of challengers with homicide in their hearts. The finale offers a duel to the death between Van Damme and reigning Kumite king Bolo Yeung. The script is based on the real-life exploits of martial arts champ Frank Dux, who serves as the film's fight coordinator.

The Order

With shades of Dan Brown and a script by Jean Claude Van Damme himself, alongside Les Weldon (screenwriter of another action star film, Replicant), the movie is what every fan of the Belgian actor wants: brawling, with a fun plot, and never boring.
