The protagonist Hailey Dean, from the franchise 'Hailey Dean Mysteries', mixes two areas that have been arousing curiosity in cinema for decades: psychology and legal field. After all, she begins the saga as a prosecutor, retires and embarks on the world of therapy. However, of course, she does not leave behind the investigations that made her famous. In 'Death on Duty', Dean must go back to active duty to investigate the death of an acquaintance. Mixing her legal knowledge with the novelties in the field of psychology, she tries to decipher the mind behind the crime in question. Director Michael Robison's (from 'Goosebumps') direction is conventional, working the main points of an investigation from this diverse perspective of the protagonist. It is not inventive, nor does it bring news. However, this mix of professions and perspectives on the same story should please those who want to watch a well-made police plot, straight to the point, and that can excite.
