Why watch this film?

Spanish director Oriol Ferrer has few films on his resume, with most of his work in series. Still, in recent years he has turned his focus to feature films and directed 'Cançó Per a Tu'. The film tells the story of a love triangle taking place from 1960 to 1980, in the midst of the strong political context in Catalonia, an autonomous community in Spain. The story follows the government of dictator Francisco Franco and his death in 1975. Oriol Ferrer built a production that mixes music and revolution. In fact, the protagonist Candela Serrat is the daughter of famous Spanish singer Joan Manuel Serrat. 'Cançó Per a Tu' focuses on the desires of the characters, such as freedom of the press and the creation of unions and parties. What the director ended up leaving aside was a deeper immersion in the political transformations that took place in Catalonia at that time - it is worth mentioning that to this day there are conflicts regarding the region's independence in Spain.
