Why watch this film?

I'm warning you now: 'Behind the Trees' can be considered one of the worst movies of 2020. But that, understand, is not a reason to take this production off your list of movies to watch. After all, this American horror with strong Indian inspiration is one of those stories that catches your attention and entertains you with its precariousness. And what could be desperate in a drama or even suspense, works in the horror genre. If seen in a group, with friends, crushes or family, 'Behind the Trees' is one of those involuntary sure funs. The bad performances, the forced twists, the excess of jumpscares. It's a movie to get on board with the certainty of its problems and laugh at it, from the range of strange possibilities that the production opens. Not to mention the inconsistency of director Vikram Jayakumar, who can't decide which tone to love the movie with. In other words: don't take 'Behind the Trees' seriously, understand its limitations and have fun.
