If you're tired of mundane American comedies, always with the same face and format, 'Guru-Guru Gokil' may be the best bet. After all, this Indonesian production exclusive to Netflix entertains and moves in almost equal measure, telling the story of a teacher who decides to recover the stolen money from a school. Sensitive and with strong cultural aspects of the country, 'Guru-Guru Gokil' is one of those films that surprise with more layers than it seems at first glance -- even more so with the generic Portuguese title and the poster that reminds of bestiality comedies. Are there exaggerated jokes? Without a doubt. Some absurd situations? Also. But it's a movie that breaks away from the genre's standard and helps the audience escape from the monotony of the United States.
