Why watch this film?

Typically, films about FBI or CIA operations are packed with tense moments, edge-of-your-seat action, and the typical mix of gunplay, fistfights, and explosions. However, in the hilarious 'The Day Shall Come', it's totally different. Here, filmmaker Christopher Morris (from the series 'Vice') plays with these boundaries and stereotypes to talk about a poor pastor who ends up getting involved in a bizarre FBI operation. Laughing constantly at the faces of the police and armed forces, the film also isn't afraid to laugh at itself, bringing some truly surreal moments into the narrative. All thanks to the great moments of actor Marchánt Davis, who knows how to embody the bizarreness of his character while maintaining seriousness in a plot that provokes and intrigues.
