Why watch this film?
Who said that Spain's blockbuster cinema only produces suspense and horror, like 'El Cuerpo', 'Um Contratempo' and 'O Poço'? Not at all. The country is also making its mark on the decade with good shoot 'em up, punch 'em up and blow 'em up films. This is the case with 'Adiós', a feature film by Paco Cabezas (of 'Fúria' with Nicolas Cage) and starring Mario Casas (of 'Remédio Amargo'). In the style of the best films of Cage himself, 'Adiós' follows a father seeking revenge for his daughter's death. There are no great moments, nor audacity in the way Cabezas leads the story - points that stand out in Spanish cinema. However, those who like a good action thriller with a dose of violence and revenge will find here a space to rediscover this genre so characteristic of the cinemas.

Bloodsport
Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his starring debut in the descriptively titled Bloodsport. An American soldier at large in Hong Kong, Van Damme becomes involved in the Kumite, a highly illegal kickboxing competition. Whoever survives the bout will be crowned Kumite champion of the world…a title that has plenty of challengers with homicide in their hearts. The finale offers a duel to the death between Van Damme and reigning Kumite king Bolo Yeung. The script is based on the real-life exploits of martial arts champ Frank Dux, who serves as the film's fight coordinator.

The Order

With shades of Dan Brown and a script by Jean Claude Van Damme himself, alongside Les Weldon (screenwriter of another action star film, Replicant), the movie is what every fan of the Belgian actor wants: brawling, with a fun plot, and never boring.
