Why watch this film?

Movies set in psychiatric hospitals can follow three paths. Either it's a powerful drama, like 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and 'Nise: The Heart of Madness'. Or, it's a suspenseful thriller with horror elements, like 'Disturbia' and 'Shutter Island'. Or, finally, it takes a sweeter and more saccharine route, like 'K-PAX: The Light of Life' or 'Awakenings'. Now, 'Three Christs' is another one that follows this last path. Here, Dr. Stone (Richard Gere) must treat three patients with psychological issues who believe they are Jesus - a brilliantly portrayed trio by Peter Dinklage, Walton Goggins and Bradley Whitford. It's a movie with its problems and limitations, but it ends up awakening good feelings from the extreme humor of its situations. It's surprising.
