Why watch this film?
What are the limits of medical treatment? What is medicine, what is shamanism? These are the questions that guide the important documentary 'Dosed', by first-time director Tyler Chandler. Provocative and full of reflections, the film tells the story of a suicidal woman who, after years without prescribed medicines, turns to underground shamans in an attempt to overcome her depression, anxiety and opioid addiction with illegal psychotropic drugs such as mushrooms. It's a movie to watch with restrictions, and always with critical thinking on, but it's worth it for showing how the world doesn't just consist of the same old medicines, and that there can be options from the most diverse - whether they make sense or not.
