Stitches

A mother's quest to find her stolen newborn 20 years ago

Trailer

Why watch this film?

One of the strongest and most powerful films of 2020, 'Savovi' is one of those stories that don't leave your head so quickly. Directed by Miroslav Terzic ('Rua da Redenção'), the production manages to synthesize the conflicting feeling and emotion of someone who is always waiting, surrounded by uncertainties and not knowing where to go. After all, at the center of the story is Ana (Snezana Bogdanovic), a woman who dreams of finding her missing son 18 years ago - at the time, the boy was only a newborn declared stillborn. And despite the resistance of friends, her husband (Marko Bacovic) and daughter (Jovana Stojiljkovic), the protagonist persists in her wait, pain and anguish. With a slow and contemplative direction, with long and almost always static scenes, Terzic knows how to create emotion in the audience. Even with few dialogues coming from his protagonist, the filmmaker emulates the feelings with filming angles, scene duration, looks, gestures. The unsaid is faithfully and powerfully reproduced in all the small things of 'Savovi'.
