The Voices

A man's talking cat and dog give conflicting advice on whether to become a killer.

Trailer

Why watch this film?

Years before becoming the world's favorite deranged superhero with 'Deadpool', Ryan Reynolds already put his multifaceted charisma and versatile voice to work for the protagonist of another comedy, one that is extremely violent and with a very, very dark sense of humor. 'Las voces' ('The Voices'), Marjane Satrapi's (‘Persepolis’) atypical fourth attempt at directing, tackles schizophrenia not with tact but with a sense of humor that can be highly coarse and simplistic for some. Though the movie is tonally disjointed and tends towards exploitation, it is anchored by Reynolds’ performance and the well-crafted production design, which together manage to visually represent an approach to this mental illness.
