Why watch this film?

The Western, after classics like 'Three Men in Conflict' and 'For a Handful of Dollars', fell into obscurity. Cinema stopped looking at the bang-bang in the creative - and profitable - way it used to. Fortunately, however, the genre has gone through a process of rereading since the 2000s with films like 'The Unforgiven', 'Violent Land', 'Lawless West' and 'Let Him Go'. The latter, directed and scripted by the skillful Thomas Bezucha ('Monte Carlo'), tells the story of a couple (Diane Lane and Kevin Costner) who go to another town in search of news of their daughter-in-law and grandson. It is an exciting film, punctuated by thrilling moments in this search for the lost family. But the highlight is Costner, Lane and Lesley Manville, who steal the scene with strong and memorable performances. Without a doubt, a good family rereading of the traditional American western.
