Why watch this film?

It is undeniable that systemic racism in the United States is a serious and urgent problem, and that it is the cause of why prisons across the country are filled with inmates who don't necessarily deserve to be there (as illustrated in the documentary '13th Amendment' by Ava DuVernay). Although the topic is relevant, 'Monster' falls into redundancy and proverbial "style over substance". What's worth noting is its phenomenal cast, led by Kelvin Harrison Jr. ('The Waves'), Jeffrey Wright ('Westworld'), Jennifer Ehle ('Saving Souls'), Jennifer Hudson ('Chi-Raq') and Tim Blake Nelson ('Watchmen').
